La variabilit\u00e9 naturelle de la mousson indo-asiatique reste cependant imparfaitement connue et son \u00e9volution future est difficile \u00e0 mod\u00e9liser en raison de la complexit\u00e9 des processus et des interactions qui sont \u00e0 l\u2019oeuvre (c.\u00e0.d. dynamique de l\u2019oc\u00e9an, r\u00e9ponse de la v\u00e9g\u00e9tation, t\u00e9l\u00e9-connexions avec les moyennes et hautes latitudes, couplage mousson\/ENSO\/IOD\/ITF).<\/p>\n<p>Les projets MONOPOL et DIPOMOUSS visent \u00e0 \u00e9tudier l\u2019eau et les s\u00e9diments de l\u2019oc\u00e9an Indien tropical (Est et central) afin de reconstruire la variabilit\u00e9 pass\u00e9e de la mousson indo-asiatique et sa sensibilit\u00e9 \u00e0 diff\u00e9rents types de for\u00e7ages au cours du Quaternaire. Il se base sur l\u2019exploitation de eaux et des carottes s\u00e9dimentaires pr\u00e9lev\u00e9es en 2012 lors de la campagne oc\u00e9anographique MONOPOL (\u00e0 bord du N\/O Marion Dufresne II), et qui seront pr\u00e9lev\u00e9es en 2020, lors de la campagne oc\u00e9anographique DIPOMOUSS \u00e0 l\u2019aide de rosettes, des carottiers CASQ et CALYPSO et d\u2019un carottier d\u2019interface (multi-tubes). Ils regroupent 6 laboratoires\u00a0: CEREGE, EPOC, GEOPS, IPGP, LSCE et MNHN et s\u2019inscrit dans le cadre d\u2019une collaboration \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle internationale au sein du programme IGBP\/PAGES \u2013 IMAGES (International Marine Global Changes Study).<\/p>\n<p>Concr\u00e8tement, les reconstructions pal\u00e9oc\u00e9anographiques et pal\u00e9oclimatiques se basent sur une approche multi-traceurs, comprenant des traceurs biologiques (ex. \u00e9tudes des assemblages de nannofossiles calcaires et de pollens), s\u00e9dimentaires et g\u00e9ochimiques (ex. Ti\/Al, \u00e4<sup>18<\/sup>O, Mg\/Ca).
