The hub will also serve as a platform for the planetary science community to share information and better address the challenges of digitalisation. It forms part of the national, European and global landscape, working closely with PSUP (Planetary SUrface Portal), VESPA (Virtual European Solar and Planetary Access) and SSHADE (Solid Spectroscopy Database Infrastructure).<\/p>\n<p>To this end, the PDSSP\u2019s mission is to bring together existing centres to serve the planetary science community. It relies on the establishment of a spatial data infrastructure for planetary surfaces, providing access to its data. It aims to deliver added value, particularly for data and services in fields where data centres do not exist or need to be developed, and in coordination with European and international initiatives. The hub must neither disrupt nor replace the centres already in place and identified as National Observation Services.
