Recent doctoral work has made it possible to accurately establish the stratigraphic architecture of these sedimentary series and their significant lithological, facies, and diagenetic heterogeneities (Briais, 2015; Moreau, 2023). These heterogeneities cause significant variability in physical properties at different scales of investigation, from the sample scale (μm, cm) to the geological formation scale (dm, km). Furthermore, with the change in dimensions, the different scales of heterogeneity observable by the naturalist geologist induce variations in the physical properties of rocks that can be quantified. In this project, we propose a multi-scale study integrating sedimentary geology, petrophysical analyses, and geophysical measurements, focusing on key study areas in the Paris region, with the study of numerous cores located, for example, along the future metro line 15 or in underground quarries. The work carried out will provide new insights into and characterization of the physical properties of highly heterogeneous subsoils by combining naturalistic, analytical, and modeling characterization.

Project leader: Cédric Bailly

Funding source: Brgm – RGF https://rgf.brgm.fr/

GEOPS staff involved: Charlie Marconnet (PhD student), Cédric Bailly, Benjamin Brigaud, Gaël Monvoisin, Jean-David Moreau

Collaboration with: BRGM, University of Lyon 1, Cergy Paris University, IFPEN, IGC Paris

[16

post-233","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-sedimentary-diagenetic-evolution
["GET
